A Butler man has been sentenced after conviction on federal firearms charges.
29-year-old Charles Perkins will serve 66 months (5 and a half years) in prison followed by three years of supervised release on one count of Possession of a Stolen and Loaded Firearm, as well as committing that offense while on supervised release for a prior conviction.
According to the Department of Justice, in February of last year the Butler County Anti-Drug Task Force attempted to stop Perkins as he ran from the site of a search warrant execution. He was observed throwing a handgun while was eventually determined to have been stolen.
Perkins was previously sentenced to 15 months in prison in 2021 following a local vehicle stop that revealed a large amount of drugs Perkins admitted that he was planning to sell.
