A Butler School Board member is facing charges after a road rage incident in late December.
The incident happened on December 27 when State Police were called to Center Township at Mercer Road and North Main Street for an alleged road rage incident involving 33-year-old Phillip Heasley.
Heasley is accused of pulling out a hand gun at two people while at a stop sign. Heasley claims he never pointed the gun at the victims and was on the phone with his girlfriend at the time of the incident. When police spoke with the girlfriend, she said she was not on the phone with Heasley.
Butler School District solicitor Tom Breth said the “district is aware of the situation and is monitoring it.”
Heasley told our newsroom that “it was a self-defense situation.”
He was charged with simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct.
