The West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department is warning about a scam circulating.
Officials say it was brought to their attention that someone was sending text messages pretending to be a representative of the fire department.
Officials also said they will never text anyone from a personal cell phone number. They will only contact individuals through their official Facebook page or by phone calls directly from the hall.
If you are contacted by a scammer, they ask that you reach out to the department directly.
