Knoch high school swimmer Giona Lavorini won a state championship over the weekend. Lavorini captured the Class 2A 100-Breastroke title. It was the first state title for the Knoch junior. North Catholic’s Luke Lamb won the 100 Backstroke title – setting a state record in the event.
The North Catholic boys and girls were eliminated in their games over the weekend. Wyomissing used big runs in the second and third quarters to win 61-46 over the Lady Trojans. Friday night – the North Catholic boys fell to WPIAL and reigning state champion Lincoln Park 89-74. Tonight at North Allegheny high school – Hampton will meet Lincoln Park in the Class 4A semifinals.
