Joan C. Douglass, 85, of Butler, passed away on Sunday evening, April 7, 2024, at her home.
She was born April 20, 1938 in Butler, a daughter of the late Gardiner McClelland and Esther (Beneigh) McClelland.
Joan was a Butler High School graduate, class of 1956 and was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church and had been a former member of the St. Fidelis Choir. She enjoyed playing the piano, playing cards, had volunteered at the Butler Memorial Hospital and was always available for lunch.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin J. Douglass, whom she married May 7, 1960.
Her children: Lisa (Glenn) Pizor, Lori (Steve) Goldston and Darryl (Marsha) Douglass.
9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack and Dick McClelland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 10:00 am, at St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road in Meridian. Arrangements by the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler.
As Joan was an avid reader, her family requests that donations be sent to the Butler Area Public Library, 218 North McKean Street, Butler, PA 16001.
