Esther Irene Stepanovich

Esther Irene Stepanovich, daughter of the late Alvin Hartzell and Della Bachman Hartzell, passed away peacefully on April 9th in Canandaigua, NY at the age of 103. She was a long time resident of Jefferson and Penn townships in Butler County and, more recently, of Canandaigua NY. Esther was dedicated to her family, an avid quilter, and she enjoyed reading and playing cards. She was a 91-year member of Summit Presbyterian Church and past member of the Jefferson Grange. She was predeceased by her husband, George, son, Samuel, sister, Viola Simpson, and brother, Carl Hartzell. She is survived by her sons Walter (Nancy) of Butler, Robert of Panama City Beach FL, Paul (Pamela) of Leland NC, and daughter-in-law Marjorie of Canandaigua NY. She leaves eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. A viewing will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler on April 14th from 2-5 pm. Funeral services will be held at Summit Presbyterian Church on April 15th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Heart Association.
