Progress continues on a Butler Township recreation facility in the Pullman Business Park.
Monday night the Township Commissioners provided an update on the mostly complete large blue turf field.
Next month a contract will be awarded to construct a concession and restroom building along with a parking lot and pouring pads for bleachers. That project is expected to be finished sometime in August.
Township officials expect the facility to be available for rent by organizations and use by individuals on or around Labor Day. The cost to rent has not yet been determined but will depend on how much it will cost the township to replace turf when it wears out in ten years.
The scheduling of rentals is expected to begin in August.
