The Mars Area School Board is once again leaving a statewide organization.
At their meeting earlier this week, Mars Board members failed to approve renewing membership with the Pennsylvania School Boards Association for next school year in the amount of just over $19,000. The vote was 4 in favor and 4 against with one abstention.
Last year the district obtained an All-Access PSBA membership package at a cost of nearly $24,000 in order to receive access to policy review services. That vote was five in favor with four against.
According to administrators, the board will now need to seek out an organization to provide policy review services in order to stay up to date with changes in law.
