As Butler County remains one of the only counties in Western PA that is experiencing population growth, there are certain municipalities leading that charge.
According to new data from the U.S. Census Bureau, there were six townships that saw population growth over the last three years.
- Adams Twp. had a 5% increase (15,000)
- Cranberry Twp. was up 4.3% (34,500)
- Jackson Twp. jumped by 18% (5,700)
- Lancaster Twp. grew 24% (3,400)
- Buffalo Twp. saw a 3.2% increase (8,100)
Slippery Rock Township also is up by almost 2,000 residents since 2020, however the pandemic may have skewed those numbers with Slippery Rock University cancelling classes.
