Two more Butler County farms are among 28 across the state to be protected through a program preserving agricultural land for future generations.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, the 78 acre Edwards Family Partnership crop farm in Clinton Township and the 170 acre Ryan W. and Roxanne M. Graham crop farm in Center Township are the latest to be safeguarded through the Farmland Preservation Program.
With a total investment of nearly $1.3 million including over $214,000 from the county and nearly $146,000 from Clinton Township, these operations will now be protected from future residential, commercial, or industrial development in order to preserve the future of farming and food security in the state.
Over 50 Butler County farms have been preserved through this program so far.
