Later today in downtown Butler, three anti-racism organizations will be hosting a Juneteenth celebration sharing poetry and song.
The “Uniting in Poetry and Song: A Juneteeth Celebration” will be taking place at the Young Women’s Christian Association on West Cunningham Street from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight.
The event will be hosted by the Butler Clergy Network Anti-Racism Focus Group, Poets Against Racism, and Hate USA. The event will include the history and significance of the holiday along with group singing and poetry from two local poets.
Food will be provided but attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share.
