A portion of Route 8 North was shut down this weekend after a serious crash that sent two people to the hospital.
The accident happened Saturday afternoon just before 4 p.m. in Brady Township just south of the intersection of Route 8 and Hall Road.
State Police say that 26-year-old Zachary Hanna of Dayton was driving south when he lost control and hit a guide rail.
Hanna’s car then went airborne and landed on the hillside before crashing into a tree.
Hanna was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. His passenger 20-year-old Cameron Zimmerman of Rural Valley suffered serious injuries and was flown to a Pittsburgh trauma center.
Route 8 was shut down for over an hour to allow crews to clear the scene.
