A state bill that aims to bring lower energy costs to Pennsylvania school districts has arrived back in the state house.
The bill will establish the Pennsylvania Solar for School Grant Program, which would give money to schools to fund solar energy projects. Grants will be awarded to school districts, intermediate units, career and technical schools, and community colleges.
The bill previously passed the house in 2023 and was recently reintroduced in the Senate where it passed with a vote of 42-7. There is no word on when it will land on the house floor for a final vote.
Grants have been available through the Inflation Reduction Act.
