As the Pennsylvania State House and Senate wrap for the year there have been a flurry of laws delivered to the Governor’s desk.
Two new laws include returning unclaimed property. The first would simplify the process for claiming up to $11,000 from a relative that has passed after five years. The second will allow the Pennsylvania Treasury to automatically return unclaimed property up to $500.
In connection with Governor Josh Shapiro’s budget, the Agriculture Innovation act passed both the House and Senate. The act looks to provide grants and subsidies for Pennsylvania farmers for innovate technology in farming.
In concurrence with the Supreme Court earlier this year, non-compete agreements for Health Care Practitioners will soon be bared in an attempt to help lower medial costs.
Finally, students involved in residency disputes with school districts will now be allowed to stay in school as the dispute is resolved.
All bills still need the governor’s signature before becoming law.
