This will mark the first year for the Karns City School District where all elementary school students will be in the same school and the year is expected to start on time as construction continues.
The newly named Karns City Area Elementary School first day of school will be held on September 3rd as scheduled. Although, work is expected to continue into mid to late October, according to school officials.
The gymnasium, a band room, and the soon to be new student entrance is still being completed. Until that work is being finished students will be dropped off at the old location on the side of the building.
Construction will continue to happen during the school day but classrooms will be separated by wooden barriers with some minor noise impacts.
