Online courses beginning later this week will provide information about comprehensive planning as well as another about blight mitigation.
Penn State Extension is offering the first webinar titled “Comprehensive Plans in Pennsylvania: What Are They and Why Do They Matter?” Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Presenters will discuss what goes into a comprehensive plan and how they should be updated regularly. This is a free program but registration is required to receive access since space is limited.
The second webinar will also take place Wednesday and is titled “Blight Mitigation: Building Capacity Through Intergovernmental Partnerships”. For 75 minutes beginning at noon, a redevelopment director in Westmoreland County and an official with the local government academy will share best practices for demolition and rehabilitation. Registration is $15 for this program of $50 for the complete five session series by visiting the Penn State Extension website.
