The City of Butler will receive assistance from a state agency to improve efficiency and learn more about funding opportunities.
The PA Department of Community and Economic Development has approved City Council’s request for grant funding in the amount of nearly $54,000 in order to participate in the Strategic Management Planning Program.
Under this program, DCED representatives will come to Butler in order to help officials prepare a five-year Financial and Operational Plan including areas in need of attention as well as opportunities for grants.
The City will pay $10,000 to receive this guidance with the rest being covered by grants or assistance from the County or the County’s Community Development Corporation.
Earlier this year, City Council accepted a proposal from the Pennsylvania Economy League in the amount of nearly $64,000 as part of preparation for this plan.
