Butler County has been a hotbed for political activity in the months leading up to the 2024 Presidential election and that continued this weekend.
On Friday the Governor Josh Shapiro introduced Senator Bob Casey at the Steamfitters Technology Center in Jackson Township. And then on Saturday former President Bill Clinton appeared at the facility with Senator John Fetterman and other local Democrats.
Clinton said that there wasn’t anything new to say, but encouraged people to vote.
“Just about everything that could be said about this election has been said,” Clinton said. “Every name that you can be called, Donald Trump has used it.”
Senator Casey meanwhile spent Friday advocating for union jobs, but he sees Butler County and Western Pennsylvania as a region as what could determine the election.
“This is a region that is 50/50 in a sense, in some ways it mirrors the state. So we got to work hard to get votes out here and earn the vote of the people making the decisions,” Casey said.
