After months of campaigning, it is finally Election Day.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and will stay open until 8 p.m.
Voters will head to one of 96 polling precincts in Butler County. Per election law, if you’re in line to vote before 8 p.m. you will be allowed to cast a ballot.
Meanwhile, if you voted by mail but have not submitted your ballot yet, you can drop it off at the county’s election office today.
Results in Butler County will be reported when all in-person and mail ballots are tabulated.
In Butler County, there are 145,722 registered voters.
Of that number, over 83,000 are Republicans and 40,000 are Democrats. There are just shy of 1,000 Libertarians and the remaining 20,000 are either independent of unaffiliate.
In the 2020 election, former President Donald Trump received just shy of 75,000 votes, while President Joe Biden earned over 37,000.
Voter turnout increased by nearly 15,000 voters from 2016 to 2020.
County officials are expecting voter turnout to be over 80 percent in this year’s election.
