One state lawmaker is proposing a bill to change the state song to a song he wrote.
In a bipartisan effort State Representative Russ Diamond has called to change Pennsylvania’s state song to one he has written.
In a memo sent to members of the legislator, Diamond says the state song should be a simple composition, that can be easily recalled, and performed at a wide array of events from elementary school music classes to Philadelphia’s mummer’s parade.
The original bill from last session, which would not have chosen a song, passed the house 138-64.
