A winter weather advisory has gone into this morning due to the threat of hazardous road conditions due to the snow and cold temperatures.
The threat of snow has led schools districts in Butler County to either close or call for a two-hour delay.
Butler County is expected to get two to four inches of snow but the cold overnight temperatures will limit the effectiveness of the road treatment.
“Once we get to the teens and below, the brine that is used on the roads starts to lose their effectiveness,” Matt Brudy, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service said.
I-80 has reduced the speed limit to 45 miles per hour in both Clarion and Jefferson Counties.
Caution is advised on the road during the morning commute.
