Governor Josh Shapiro has reached an agreement with an energy supplier to prevent price hikes over the next two years.
Governor Shapiro joined a lawsuit with 13 other states in December that aimed to prevent energy price hikes. Earlier this week, a settlement agreement was reached that the governor argues could save $21 billion.
The agreement would place an auction cap on energy provided by the PJM, the largest producer of energy in Pennsylvania.
Last year the auction saw an 800 percent increase from the previous year.
