A Butler woman lost over $4,000 in December after a run in with a Facebook scam.
The victim believed she was purchasing items from her friend’s father selling items from his home.
The Venmo account was linked to a Liting Lui of Texas, and it was determined the victim’s friend’s Facebook was hacked.
Lui was charged with Theft by deception, and identity theft.
