After announcing the launch of their residency program, Butler Memorial Hospital is ready to welcome the inaugural class of medical school graduates to the hospital.
Four students from across the United States will complete their residency at Butler Memorial Hospital starting this summer.

- Lauren Duttry, DO, Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Hometown: Reynoldsville, PA
- Gerald (Jerry) Eddis, MD, American University of the Caribbean, Hometown: Philadelphia, PA
- Amba Pasupuleti, MBBS (MD equivalent), MNR Medical College, India, Hometown: Hyderabad, India
Hospital officials say they received over 170 applications for the residency program, which allows recent graduates of medical schoool to learn inpatient and outpatient experiences through rotations at Butler Family Medicine, Butler Memorial Hospital, and Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
“We are thrilled to welcome our first class of residents to the Butler Family Medicine Residency program,” Dr. Joseph Dougherty, residency program director said. “We look forward to working with this talented group of physicians, and we are confident that they will provide exceptional care to our patients and contribute to the growth of our the program, while making a positive impact on the community.”
The program expects to accept up to eight residents per year as it expands.
