Gas prices have jumped up both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, increased by 12 cents to reach $3.51 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole increased by a dime to $3.47. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Clarion at $3.08, while the most expensive is in Warren at $3.60.
The average national gas price rose by three cents over the past week to sit at $3.16. This is the same as a month ago and 19 cents less than one year ago. The demand for gas has decreased but the price of crude oil has gone up.
