Gas prices have dropped locally but increased across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, decreased by two cents to reach $3.24 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole rose by four cents to sit at $3.28. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Brookville at $3.11, while the most expensive is in Warren at $3.55.
The average national gas price dropped another four cents over the past week to $2.91 which is the lowest gas has been in four years. Although gas prices have been lower recently, both demand and oil prices increased slightly.
