Stanley E. Bauer, age 90 of Lucinda, passed away suddenly on February 17, 2026.
He was born in Lucinda on April 11, 1935, and was the son of the late Edward Bauer
and Florence Griebel Bauer.
Stan married Mary Rose Schupp of Lucinda on June 15, 1963, at St. Joseph’s Catholic
Church in Lucinda. He graduated from Farmington High School (North Clarion) and
worked for Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Clarion for over 40 years, first in the mold shop
and then as an electrician, retiring in 1998.
A lifelong lover of nature who found joy in the simple beauty of the outdoors, Stan spent
many happy hours working in the yard, walking in the woods, and quietly observing
wildlife and birds. When reflecting on the chaos of the world, he often said, “You’ve just
got to stick with Mother Nature.” He enjoyed tinkering and building in his garage
workshops and loved ending the day sitting on the deck, soaking in the sun and fresh
air. In midlife, he discovered a passion for golf that stayed with him for the rest of his life.
Though a skilled golfer, he approached the game as a practice rather than a
competition, often reminding friends to relax and enjoy the day. He also loved traveling
and exploring the country’s natural beauty, from the Grand Canyon to the scenic
landscapes of California and Arizona, as well as destinations closer to home along the
East Coast and New England. He found happiness in simple pleasures too: playing
cards, meeting his friends for breakfast, and spending time with his beloved cat, Baby.
He is survived by his two daughters, Karen Watson of Sterling, Virginia, and Kelly
Dietrich of Midlothian, Virginia; sons-in-law, Mark Watson and Tim Dietrich, and
grandsons Mitch Watson and Alex Dietrich.
Also surviving are three siblings: Jean Bauer, Virginia Baumcratz, and James (Marge)
Bauer, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his
wife Rose, parents, brother Norbert Bauer, and brother-in-law James Baumcratz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 10 am at
Immaculate Conception Church at 720 Liberty Street in Clarion. Reverend Jason Feigh
will serve as celebrant. Coffee and light refreshments will be served following the
service. All arrangements were made through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 NEW CASTLE RD. BUTLER, PA 16001. WWW.SPENCERDGEIBEL.COM.
