Butler County is extending an agreement with Allegheny County for how much it costs to house inmates.
Allegheny County pays Butler $100 per day for when the Butler County Prison has to hold Allegheny inmates.
Meanwhile, Allegheny charges Butler $177 per day for inmates. However, Butler prison officials say they never house inmates in Allegheny County due to the high costs.
County commissioners say they are going to reach out and discuss how to make the price more attenable for potential future use.
