Butler County is continuing to receive state funding to help the public defender’s office.
The state approved extending the Indigent Defense Grant, which first started two years ago.
The county is applying for more than $95,000 to go to the public defender’s office. The money is used for additional staff and improved technology for case management.
Public Defender officials say the PCCD grant has been very effective for the office.
