A recent Butler Township event continues to help a local organization provide for kids in need.
At their Monday night meeting, the Butler Township Commissioners presented a check to the Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation with $6,000 in proceeds from their 4th annual Guys Who Grill event at Preston Park.
Audray Muscatello Yost was among those on hand to accept the donation on behalf of the foundation, explaining that amount will nearly cover the cost of one month of food for the Kids Weekend Backpack Program.
The organization buys food items from food banks and discount retailers with over 40 volunteers assisting in the effort each Tuesday morning at the Intermediate school during the school year.
