The public is invited out to a couple of events at local parks later this week.
First, on Thursday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. staff at Moraine State Park will share highlights of the park’s history with participants while cruising Lake Arthur on the Preston’s Pearl pontoon boat. Adult tickets for the event are $19 each and children’s tickets ages 3 to 12 are $10. Visitors will meet near the Owlet Gift Shop in the McDanel’s Area on the North Shore. Seating is limited and pre-registration is required. To register, call the Owlet Gift Shop or use the Moraine Preservation Fund website.
Also on Thursday, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. the park naturalist will lead a Salamander Safari on Hell Run Creek. This activity promises fun and discovery for the whole family as salamanders and all sorts of other creatures call Hell Creek home. Participants should meet at the Hells Hollow Trail parking lot, dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water.
