PennDOT has announced that high school students can once again apply for the PennDOT Innovations Challenge.
The tenth annual competition encourages students to solve real-world transportation challenges in competition among peers.
For the challenge this year, students will be asked to develop an innovation to prevent over-height vehicles from striking bridges and tunnels.
Students will have a chance to win $6,000 if their plan is deemed the winner by a panel of judges. The deadline to submit is January 29, 2026.
Students grades nine through 12 can find more information and apply to the competition online.
