State police have charged the boyfriend of a Butler County woman who allegedly overdosed on heroin while pregnant.
Andy Lucas, 37, of East Butler was charged Friday with child endangerment, corruption of minors and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently in a rehab facility in Erie County as a result of a parole violation.
Police allege Lucas was home and high on drugs back in June when his girlfriend, 30-year-old Kasey Dischman, injected herself with heroin. Also at home was the couple’s six-year-old daughter. Investigators say Lucas did call 911 to report that Dischman was unconscious but then allegedly lied to medics claiming she had a seizure disorder instead of relaying that she was on drugs.
Dischman remains in the Butler County Prison, charged with aggravated assault of an unborn child. Lucas is also the father of the baby, who was delivered prematurely following Dischman’s overdose. The baby’s condition is unknown.
