Police have released the identity of a man whose body was found last week in a corn field in Clinton Township.
28-year-old Corey Lee Kleinfelder was pronounced dead Thursday afternoon in a field off Route 228 East near Saxonburg Boulevard. A woman riding a horse on her property found the body and called 911.
Sources say where Kleinfelder’s body was found was not far from his home in Clinton Township. Investigators did not find any drugs or paraphernalia on or around his body but believe Kleinfelder ingested heroin while at home and then walked to the field, where he succumbed to an apparent overdose.
The official cause of death is still pending toxicology results.
