If you’re looking for a break from the heat, you’ll have to wait until the second half of the week.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Tim Axford says temperatures are running 12 to 15 degrees above normal and will continue to do so through Wednesday.
“We’ve been locked into high pressure for the last week and that means sunny, blue skies,” Axford told our newsroom.
Pittsburgh hit 90 degrees on Sunday and tied a record. The National Weather Service is forecasting Butler to nearly top 90 today.
A cold front is expected to come in late Wednesday and push temperatures down by nearly 20 degrees.
