Authorities have released the identity of a motorcyclist who died after leading police on a chase in nearby Shaler on Friday night.
Our news partners at WPXI say that police attempted to stop 47-year-old Todd Kraft of East Pittsburgh around 6:30pm Friday on Babcock Boulevard.
Authorities say that Kraft attempted to flee the scene, but crashed into the back of a car moments later. Kraft’s motorcycle reached speeds as high as 80 miles per hour in the short chase. He was not wearing a helmet.
It is still unknown why Kraft attempted to flee the scene.
