A local business has been recognized with a state-wide award at an event earlier this week.
Bob and Jodi McCafferty, owners of North Country Brewing Company were the recipients of this year’s Eco-Hero Award from the Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association (PFLA). The award was presented last Monday (10/23) at a Gala Reception and Dinner at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh.
The Eco-Hero Award recognizes a business that has developed a culture that integrates superior environmental management practices to improve operations while maintaining a high level of quality service.
Since 2005, the McCafferty’s have used produce raised on their 64-acre farm in Slippery Rock in their food and beer. North Country Brewing Company also has taken an active role in supporting the local community through events like the annual Brewfest.
