Area gas prices are down slightly this week.
According to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report, the average price in western Pennsylvania is $2.82 per gallon, down two cents from last week.
In Butler, the average price is $2.85.
AAA’s reports shows that gas prices are cheaper this week throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast region, dropping everywhere except in Washington, D.C.
“With a build of 546,000 barrels, the region saw the largest gasoline inventory increase in the country on the week. However, the region is also experiencing the largest deficit year-over-year, according to the latest Energy Information Administration report. An uptick in imports is expected to help reduce the deficit,” according to AAA’s report.
