Katherine Viola “Dahl” Donelly was born September 24, 1988 and is singing with the angles since December 4th 2017.
Katy gave birth to her daughter August 5th 2016 and was stricken by a brain aneurism August 6th 2016. After being discharge from the hospital December 19th 2016, she lived at home with her family in a persistent vegetative state.
Katherine was an extensive traveler including traveling over half of the United States. She performed mission work throughout Central America, conquered the Yucatan Channel by sailboat with her family from Guatemala to the Florida Keys and several trips to Costa Rica including for her wedding.
Katy was an entrepreneur and worked with her family in developing the businesses of Interstate Builders, City Landscape Supply and Chicora Sporting Goods and Sandwich Shop.
Katy, along with her sister Mary and sister-in-law Mercedes followed in her father’s footsteps in attending Valley Forge Military Academy and College. She graduated as a First Lieutenant of the Regimental Board and was the editor in chief of the Cadet Life newspaper. Katherine met her husband, Sam, while attending Valley Forge.
Fearless, courageous, compassionate and Christian, Katy enjoyed kicking ass and taking names.
Survived by her husband Samuel A. Donelly and daughter; Maddison Rean Donelly. Her father and mother; Randolph D. Dahl, Sr. and his wife Mary K. (Gamble) Dahl. Her six brothers and two sister, Randolph D. Dahl Jr. and his wife Jamie L (Dietz) Dahl, Andrew M. Dahl and his wife Jennifer A. (Bergbigler) Dahl, Chattele L. (Dahl) Melnick and her husband Philip A. Melnick Sr., Joseph G. Dahl, Nathaniel W. Dahl Sr. and his wife Amber S. (Merten) Dahl, Jonathon S. Dahl Sr. and his wife April K. (Adams) Dahl, Adolph H. Dahl, Sr. and his wife Mercedes A. (Goodwin) Dahl and Mary E. (Dahl) Inakavadze and her husband Vache Inakavadze. 17 nieces and nephews, and three step-nieces and a step-nephew, one great niece and her maternal grandmother Evelyn Gamble.
Preceded in death by her paternal Grandfather and Grandmother Adolph M. Dahl Sr. and his wife Katherine V. Dahl and her maternal grandfather William L. Gamble, Sr.
Viewing will be held Thursday December 7th from 6-8pm closing with a service at Young Funeral Home, 127 West Jefferson Street, Butler, PA 16001. Burial will be Friday morning at Somerset County Memorial Park, Somerset, Pa at 11am.
