The Slippery Rock University Presidential Search Committee is back to work studying resumes and planning for interviews.
A total of 57 applicants asked to be considered for the position after advertisements were run nationally seeking candidates in November and December.
During the University’s break, each member of the committee reviewed applications and submitted a list of top ten candidates to a search consultant assisting with the process.
Those lists will be consolidated into a summary presented at the committee’s next meeting this Friday. Interviews will take place off campus in late January or early February. A smaller group of candidates will then be invited on campus for additional formal interviews.
Two candidates previously nominated by the committee failed to gain approval by SRU Trustees in October. Former President Dr. Cheryl Norton retired in July of 2017.
