A Butler County man driving the wrong way was killed Thursday night in a head-on crash on Route 422.
Eli Houston, 32, of Summit Township was pronounced dead at the scene of the two-vehicle accident near the Lawrence-Butler County line (crash was in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County).
The crash happened about 9:00 p.m. Crews had to close the roadway for about three hours.
State Police are investigating. They say Houston was driving east in the westbound lane when he struck a vehicle traveling west head-on. The other driver- 50-year-old Amy Buckley of New Castle- and her passenger- 22-year-old Megan Linger- both suffered “moderate” injuries. They were both taken to the hospital.
It’s unclear why Houston was driving the wrong way.
