The Butler County Commissioners praised the county’s emergency services department at their meeting Wednesday.
Commissioners Leslie Osche, Kim Geyer and Kevin Boozel thanked Emergency Services Director Steve Bicehouse and his department for all the work they did last week due to the extensive flooding.
“Especially give our thanks to the water rescue team,” Geyer said during the meeting. “We’re so grateful for the work they did.”
Heavy rain combined with warm temperatures that led to snow melt caused problems in several areas of the county. According to Bicehouse, the county’s water rescue team completed 14 rescues on Friday.
“I will pass along your thanks,” Bicehouse told the commissioners.
All roads that had been closed due to the flooding have re-opened. PennDOT says a portion of Three Degree Road was the last to re-open, doing so on Tuesday afternoon.
