Renting downtown Butler’s Diamond Park is expected to cost a bit more in the coming months.
The Butler County Commissioners are planning to update the ordinance for the rental of the park to cover the costs of the county workers who must staff it when it’s rented out.
The commissioners say they’re not trying to make money on park rentals, but rather recoup what the county must pay maintenance employees. The cost will need to be an additional $60 per hour, per employee.
The commissioners say they have spoken to the groups that typically rent the park for festivals and haven’t received any negative feedback.
The board is expected to approve the ordinance update next month.
