As we celebrate the first day of spring, there is still time to participate in a seasonal collection to benefit local children in need.
The Butler County Alliance For Children is a non-profit organization that supports child victims while coordinating investigations into suspected abuse. Members of Butler County Community College’s physical therapy assistant club are putting together Easter Baskets with toys and treats for some of the child victims.
This is the fourth year for the collection and according to Director of Communications and Marketing at Butler County Community College Jessica Matonak, each year the group has been able to fill more baskets than the year before.
“They have 100 baskets this year to give those children and this is the only initiative through that organization for the Easter holiday for those kids so it’s really important,” Matonak said in an interview.
Donations of candy and activities for boys and girls ages 3 to 18 will be accepted through Monday, March 26. The baskets will be distributed on March. 29.
