Walkers will be gathering at North Boundary Park in Cranberry Township this weekend for an event to benefit an important cause.
A March of Dimes Walk is planned for Sunday, April 22 with registration starting at 8 a.m. and the activity itself kicking off at 9 a.m. Thewalk focuses on reducing infant mortality, premature birth and birth defects.
Officials say one in 10 babies in the United States is currently born premature and many have health issues as a result.
“It shouldn’t take you anymore than about an hour of your time and you’re helping the 370,000 children that are born premature,” Doug Hussey, co-chair of the Butler County March of Dimes Walk for Babies, said in an interview. “It’s a great cause to get involved with.”
