A northern Butler County man was badly burned on Saturday by an explosion in his driveway.
Emergency responders were sent to 58-year-old Thomas Pringle’s home on Hilliard Road in Washington Township about 4:30 p.m.
Firefighters were unsure of exactly what happened but found a 55-gallon drum of diesel fuel that had somehow ignited in the driveway.
Pringle was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital to receive treatment for his injures.
