A woman from Butler was hurt Wednesday when the bicycle she was riding was hit by a car.
The incident happened about 9 a.m. at the intersection of Meridian Road and Deer Run Drive.
Butler Township Police say a 17-year-old man from Butler was driving northbound on Meridian Road at the same time that 50-year-old Tracey Maalouf of Butler was riding on Meridian Road on her bicycle.
Maalouf was trying to make a left turn onto Deer Run Drive. The teen driver told police he tried to avoid a collision with Maalouf but in doing so, his vehicle struck her rear bike tire.
Maalouf fell off the bike, hit the pavement and was hurt. She was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment.
It’s unclear if any charges will be filed.
