The South Butler School Board and its teachers union will sit down at the table again tonight to try and come to an agreement and end a years-long contract stalemate.
The two sides will meet in private in front of a three-person arbitration panel. On the panel will be attorney Tom King representing the school board, UniServ representative Pat Andrekovich for the teachers and Pittsburgh attorney David Breen, who is a state-certified arbitrator.
Both sides will detail their final, best offers. At least two of the three arbitrators on the panel must agree on a decision within 20 days. The school board and teachers then have 10 days to vote on the outcome.
If either side rejects the decision, the two sides will return to negotiations.
