The years-long back-and-forth between the South Butler School District and its teachers regarding a contract could soon be over.
A three-member arbitration panel- who listened to requests from both sides- has put together a contract….and one side has already voted to approve it.
The district voted 7-2 on the contract during a meeting on Wednesday. The teachers union is expected to take a vote next week.
The contract put together by the arbitrators includes an eight-year retroactive contract that would run through June 2022. Compromises were made in healthcare coverage, wage and salary schedules, early retirement incentives and post-graduate work compensation.
