In case you don’t feel like driving to the liquor store, state officials want to make it much easier to buy online.
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is working to improve its e-commerce.
“We anticipate a new 30,000-square foot warehouse to be open by Labor Day and once it’s open, we plan to bring in our entire portfolio of products,” Executive Director Charlie Mooney said.
Consumers would then have their pick of products, which could be delivered the next day.
Mooney says the board also plans to upgrade its website in hopes of doing third-party delivery and even same-day delivery on some items.
Currently, liquor e-commerce in Pennsylvania over represents a small fraction of the total alcohol sales, about $2.5 million out of $2.5 billion.
